is hosting the 2nd annual Hands 2 Help Quilt Challenge.
Sign up is this week.
This year there are 2 charities.
One is the NOLA Project.
Quilts will be made for school age children
in the St Bernard Parrish that was hit hard by Hurricane Katrina.
The youth ministry at Sarah's church make several trips a
year to St Bernard Parrish and help out.
This year they will be able to take quilts to hand out
and maybe give a lost child that special hug they need.
The second charity is helping
Emily at http://emsscrapbag.blogspot.com/
Emily has set a goal of 1500 quilts for Happy Chemo.
You are invited to join in. You can choose which charity
to make one or more quilts for.
My plans are to make 1 woman quilt in memory of my mother-in-law
who did not survive brain cancer and a man quilt in honor of my father
who is a cancer survivor for Happy Chemo.
I plan on making two children quilts for the NOLA Project because
I have two children. I have 2 boys but I plan on making 1 girl and 1 boy quilt
just because I very seldom get to make girly things.
Oh and did I mention they are some pretty awesome prizes and linky parties.
Check out http://confessionsofafabricaddict.blogspot.com/ to find
out all the details.
I had this in my stash and don't remember why I bought it, with 2 boys and all, but I'm sure at the time I had a plan. I think a girl would look beautiful wrapped in a Blush quilt.
What about you?
Are you up for a challenge?
Nice Post!
ReplyDeleteWell, it's been a year since we "met" at Sarah's challenge last year. I am going to make 3 quilts, one for each of Sarah's projects and one for yours! I learned a method from a fellow quilter that uses 3 yards of complimentary fabric, layered and cut all at once like a disappearing 9 patch, then add borders. I am going to try it! Love your charms!
