Ready for fall?

Just a little something I'm working on.
So far it's not looking like the picture in my head,
but I will quilt on to see the end result.
Do you ever do that?
Have an image in your head and then not real happy
with the result on a quilt.

Maybe I'll like it more when all the background is finished.

Have a good week everyone.

Barbara's quilt, Rosebud

As promised earlier today
I have pictures of Barbara's quilt.
Delivered the quilt to her today.
This was a quilt hard to give back.
Although, not my favorite colors, I'm more of a Primitive Gatherings or Kansas Trouble kind of person,
I love the quilt pattern and the quilting.
All Barbara could remember was the block was named
Rosebud, let me know if you know the pattern name.
Doesn't it look lovely on the bed?
My camera's battery died again, so back to the cell phone pictures.

I'll let the pictures speak....

Two different sizes of circles marked the feather spine.
I used a straight ruler for the frame lines, SID, diamonds, beadboard and crosshatching.

Everything else is freehand.

Beadboard on the border. Can really see it because
of the fabric print

Still looks good on one of my beds, although I would have to change the curtains.
Barbara loved it and was very excited.
She wants to hurry and sew the binding on so she can enter it in a local quilt show coming up soon.
Thanks for visiting.

Exciting news

I didn't tell anyone, but
I entered 2 quilts in the
Machine Quilting Today Quilt Show.

This one, my IQ quilt or renamed
"Ian's Place"

and this one
"Rings Around The Flowers"
I know, not very good at naming quilts.
and look at what was in the second box when they
arrived back home

a 3rd place ribbon in the Guided by Tools class.
took the pictures for me. (except for the second one I couldn't get the one she took to download for some reason and her pictures are way better than mine)
Thank you so much, Sue.
By the way, Sue is a great quilter, been a stalker fan for awhile.
I was so excited and happy.
I know I waited a whole week write a post about it,
but my feet are just now hitting the ground.
I know it is third place but very exciting for me.  This is the first show I have entered other than small local shows.
Had a few things the judges said needed improving
and I will work on those.
That's one reason I entered was to get the judges review
to see what I needed to improve on.

I have also finished Barbara's quilt and have a ton of pictures
to share but first I must run some errands and stop by a quilt show in Murfreesboro, TN. (no entry)
Will post Barbara's later tonight.
