Vacation over

Vacation is over.
Back to my 8 to 5 job on Monday.
Did I get finished everything on my list?
Well, NO!
I won't go into all the boring details, let's just it
didn't go as planned.

I did get to quilt a little on Barbara's quilt.
I wanted the middle blocks to be different from the rest of the blocks, so the eyes would be drawn to the middle.

I quilted 1/2 cross hatching around the middle square.
This was the first time I have cross hatched and it was much easier than I thought it would be.
Let me show you something else...
a little before and after

Diamonds before background fill.

Diamonds after fill.
Not a real good picture, but they really pop up and give
texture to the middle section.
I am hoping to finish this one tomorrow,
but I think it may take a little longer because I've only been able
to quilt a couple of hours a day.

Thanks for stopping by.
Time for a little boy to go to bed.

What ever happened to lap quilts?

Finished quilting the ex-large applique quilt.
Lighting was not good today, so I will try to take pictures tomorrow.

Working on another customer quilt.
My camera battery is exhausted (at least that's what it says)
and will not charge.  I took these pictures with
my phone, so they are not the best.

This quilt is 96X96.
Glide thread and 2 layers of batting.
Three big quilts in a row is making me tired.
I am on vacation this week, so I am hoping to get lot of
quilts finished.

Kind of "bright" for my taste but still a pretty quilt.
Love all the open spaces.

This was last weeks peek. Sorry for the really bad picture
and everything in the background.  Remember phone camera.

Lots of texture.

It is a Laundry Basket Quilts pattern.
I only made the top part so it can be used as a door topper or
table runner.
I made this for my best friend and sister for her birthday.

I love how it finished, so I have started one for myself.
I don't remember the size but I used So Fine thread
2 layers of batting, 80/20 on bottom and Tuscany wool on top.
A lot of McTavishing.

Thanks for visiting, going back to finish more quilting.

Catching up

Thank you to everyone who checked to see if I was
okay after not posting for a while, a month actually.
I have been quilting, trying to get caught up,
if there such a thing.
Summer and life with Stevie has taken over
most of the time.  Life is sometimes difficult
with a special needs child and a disabled husband.
Well that's not why your here, let's get on with the fun stuff.

I did have a finish, but can't show it right now,
 but here's a peek.  I

Love the texture.  Look at all the colors of
thread I used.

This is for a special friend and I love it so much
I have started one for myself.

I took this one off the frame (have I told you how much I love my zipper leaders) to work on some of the baby
quilts.  My customer had some family matters
come up and was not in a hurry for it.
Now I have it back on the frame and trying to finish it up.

I lost the afternoon lighting but maybe you can see.
I had a time with the corners of the borders.
I didn't have a plan for them when I originally started on it.
Thought an idea would just "pop" in my head when I got to them, sadly to say it was not that easy.  I finally came up with something this afternoon.
I think when on a bed this will drape nicely.
This is a huge quilt.  If I remember correctly
something like 108X128.  It has taken forever.

I love this BIG quilt, with it's 10" borders.

I have a little boy ready for bed.
Hopefully I will be back sooner next time.
