Breast Cancer ribbon wedding quilt

I was the wedding planner for a friend's wedding.
It was way more time consuming than I had thought it would be.
The wedding was beautiful, the bride was beautiful, groom was handsome, and reception was fun.
Everything went without a hitch.  What more could one ask for.
The bride wanted a memorial table for family that had passed but always remembered.
I was so busy I didn't get to take but one picture, hopefully I can get one from the photographer.
Her grandmother had breast cancer, the family had hoped that she would be able to attend the wedding, but she lost her fight in Feb.  I made my friend a wedding quilt with a breast cancer ribbon in the middle that was a part of the memorial.

The quilt is wrinkled from being folded up and in a box since the wedding but I couldn't wait to share it.
I still have to attach the binding (ran out of time).
All the grandchildren and great grandchildren called her "Pooh".
Birth date
Date of death on the other ribbon tail.

Heart in the center, 10 circles for the grandchildren, 6 center circles for her family.
Love all the feathers.

I had a lot of fun quilting this one.
The sun was setting I will haveto take more pictures with better lighting

The back is as pretty as the front.

Thanks for letting me share.
The only picture I took at the wedding
You can see just a little bit of the memorial behind the bride and the quilt right behind the preacher.

  3. That quilt is awesome and totally inspiring me (as is all your quilting I have explored thus far!!!). I am a feather-fanatic....absolutely obsessed with them!! And dense background fill. And "trapunto" affect. And, And.....so it goes. Your stitching is beautiful, is what I want to say. I got my HQ SS last Nov. Before that I was using a Juki TL2010Q (which has a 9" harp space). The SS is perfect for me....no room for a large frame and I really love to move the fabric (as opposed to moving the machine)! So glad I found your blog!!! Blessings........
