stuff happens

I was making some progress
on Barbara's quilt...

when Mother Nature decided to send a lot of ice
and some snow our way.
Guess what happens when your gutters are full of ice
and then it rains 2 inches?

Rain comes inside.
Part of my quilting studio flooded.
Water down the wall, soaks carpet and to the garage
ceiling below.

I had to move a bookshelf loaded with my books, desk,
and furniture.
Studio is not so pretty right now and
almost impossible to work.

But still not as bad as my sister has it

Spring will come!

Time for the Giveaway drawing

It is finally time for the GYB giveaway!!.
I had my assistant draw a number
again this year.
Before the BIG reveal
I would like to thank every one
who visited and especially those who
left a comment.
A BIG thank you to Vicki
at 2 bags full for hosting this event
again this year.

Without further delay....
(pretend to hear the drum roll)

My assistant drew number
33

That would be
Jeannie in Ohio.
I will contact you by email.
I enjoyed reading all of the comments and I think
I replied to each of you.

Still working on this quilt

seeing green

I started working on a customer's quilt today.

A couple of weeks ago
I purchased a set of curved longarm rulers
I wanted to try them out.
Sixteen little dots later this is how it turned out.

This is going to take a while.

Road trip

If you're looking for the GYB posting and giveaway

Drawing will be Sunday, Feb 15.

I really need to build a design wall or something
so that I can hang a finished quilt
and show the whole quilt.
Until then, I will do the best I can.

It was raining and cloudy today so I
couldn't get real good pictures.
This quilt will be taking a road trip tomorrow,
so these pictures will have to do.

This quilt will be in an auction this weekend
at  the Junior Diabetes Research Foundation
of Western New York Gala.

Pattern is Dresden Bloom by Edyta Sitar.

76.5 X 76.5
2 layers of batting.
Glide thread.
All quilting is hand guided on my APQS Millie.

I just love how it turned out.
It was my new favorite and very hard to send away.
I know it is going for a very good cause and
I was very happy to make  for the auction.

On to the next one...

This is for a special friend.
I tied to make it a one day project, but wouldn't
you know it....
I had to (well I didn't have to but I did)
cook weekend breakfast, wash clothes, and
of course watch the Super Bowl.
( I know I did more than that)
So I still have a little bit to finish.
Then on to some customer quilts.

Thanks for visiting.
I would love to know you stopped by.
